The United World Games will once again bring an international youth sports feeling to Klagenfurt am Wörthersee from June 19 to 22. To make sure you are well prepared on site, you can find the most important information about transport and the new bottle deposit system in the food court here.
Arrival & transport: How to get around Klagenfurt
The United World Games are relying on a combined transport concept to ensure smooth mobility during the event:
- A dedicated UWG shuttle bus (stops and departure times) runs regularly between the stadium (Players Town) and central assembly points.
- In addition, connections to all sports facilities and accommodation are provided via the public transport network of the city of Klagenfurt.
- Transfers from the train station and Klagenfurt airport can also be organised.
All transport options are well coordinated and ensure short distances and relaxed journeys.
New 2025: Bottle deposit system in the food court
In order to avoid waste and promote sustainability, the United World Games are introducing a deposit system for drinks bottles. This is also in line with the new Austrian one-way deposit law, which came into force this year and stipulates a mandatory deposit for PET bottles.
This is how it works:
- You will receive a deposit voucher worth €1 with every drinks voucher.
- With the drinks voucher you can get drinks from all our kiosks in the food court!
- Return the empty, undamaged bottle together with the deposit voucher to the deposit kiosk.
- You will receive a €1 deposit.
Important: Returns are only possible with a deposit voucher – so keep it safe!
